Having always been inspired by the noble spirit of St. Vartan and his army, Homenetmen Scouts have traditionally declared Vartanants, the Armenian Church Holiday celebrating St. Vartan and his generation, as Armenian Scouts Day.

It was made official during the first Homenetmen General Assembly for Chief Scouts in February, 1982.
