Homenetmen Insignia

The Homenetmen insignia was created by Sdepan Agayian. At the center of the circular logo is Mount Ararat, with the sun shining between its two peaks. The Araks River flows from the slopes of the mountain through the Ararat Plain. The words  “Partsratsir Partsratsour“ (“Rise and Raise”) are written in Armenian along the circumference of the circle.
Mount Ararat symbolizes the dignity, eternity, and firm faith of the Armenian people.

The river represents the blood our ancestors shed for their liberty and independence.

The sun represents future generations who will one day demand justice for the blood of their ancestors and the creation of a free, independent, and united Armenia.

The insignia was first published on the cover of the January 1, 1920 issue of the 'Hay Scout' newspaper ('Armenian Scout'), suggesting that it was adopted in the summer or fall of 1919.

All Homenetmen scouts wear the organization’s insignia on their caps.
